When these games struggled critically and financially, EA finally decided to move into the modern era. After Medal of Honor (2010) and Medal of Honor: Warfighter in 2012 underperformed, EA put the series to rest and dissolved the developer behind the single-player, Danger Close Games.

“But what it stands for is priceless.” But for some people, honor does, in fact have a price: Just over $2,200, to judge by the latest sale of a Medal of Honor on the Internet auction site eBay last Friday. Such sales are illegal under federal law, and punishable by fines of up to $100,000 and a year in jail.

While military members aren’t required to salute Medal of Honor recipients, they are encouraged to do so as long as the recipient is physically wearing the medal, even when the recipient is in civilian clothes. There have even been cases of American presidents saluting MoH recipients.

The United States Army and United States Air Force give salutes with head both covered and uncovered, but saluting indoors is forbidden except when formally reporting to a superior officer or during an indoor ceremony.

Saying “Good morning, Sir,” or something along those lines is encouraged when you salute a superior. Perform the salute, then greet the soldier while holding the salute. If you are reporting to the officer, you should identify yourself and state that you are reporting. For example, “Sir, Private Jones reports.”
