In The Name of the Doctor, Matt Smith’s Time Lord told Clara he had chosen the name ‘the Doctor’ as a promise – a promise never to be cruel or cowardly; to never give up, and never give in. Famously, he refused to use the title during the Time War, feeling his actions didn’t live up to the promise.

The Daleks are destroyed by a clone of the Tenth Doctor, while Davros and Caan are left behind on the Dalek flagship as it is destroyed. In the end, the Dalek fleet was wiped out by the Eleventh Doctor during the first phase of his regeneration.

They are trapped on the planet with the Third Doctor and humans when the Exxilon City drains the power from their ships. However, the Third Doctor destroys the brain of the city while the Daleks and humans destroy the transmitter, and the Daleks are destroyed by a human sacrificing himself with a Dalek bomb.

They disintegrate the older “impure” models, who die willingly. At the same time, Amy convinces Churchill and Bracewell to use the technological know-how they have obtained from the Daleks to modify three Spitfires so that they can fly in space.

The Doctor Is The Timeless Child Over the years, though, the Doctor’s history has gradually been revealed. She’s a renegade Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous, who grew dissatisfied with her race’s refusal to intervene in galactic affairs.

It was the fact that the 11th Doctor’s companion — Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) — did not remember the Daleks. This was eventually revealed to be the result of a crack in time which was caused by the TARDIS exploding in the future. Because after “The Big Bang” the Daleks were just back and no one really even questioned it.

War of the Daleks was the fifth novel in the BBC Eighth Doctor Adventures series. It was written by John Peel, released 6 October 1997 and featured the Eighth Doctor and Sam Jones . It features the Daleks, Davros and several Thals.

Davros was tricked by the Seventh Doctor into using the Hand of Omega to destroy Skaro, although the planet was saved when the Daleks rewrote history using their time travel technology (“Remembrance of the Daleks”). This led to the Time War, a conflict between the Daleks and the Time Lords that set all of history ablaze.

Delani and his crew are Thals, the sworn enemies of the Daleks. They intend to use Davros as a means to wipe out the Daleks, finally ridding the universe of the most aggressive, deadly race ever to exist. But the Doctor is still worried.
