The primary distinction of medium format film is the larger size. This size difference can be anywhere from two to six times larger than 35mm films. The larger size of medium format film also allows for more control over depth of field, and therefore has greater creative potential.

135 film is the official name of the photographic film that is most used today. It is specified by ISO Standard 1007. It was introduced by Kodak in 1934 It was made for making pictures, rather than films. It is 35mm wide; that is why it is often also called 35mm film.

35mm film is much SMALLER than 120mm film. This means it is more portable, but it also means it has less space for details and resolution.
