Ender decides to go, but tells her that the reason is to try to repay the buggers by learning about their past. The colony travels to the new world and settles down. The people begin to live new lives there, and they are not concerned with what is happening back on Earth.

At school, the administrators purposefully isolate Ender because they think he’ll come up with more interesting battle strategies if he has no friends. The weird thing is that it works. In Ender’s Game, we may feel bad for Ender about his isolation, but we also are reminded of the positive side to isolation.

Ender is by his very nature isolated. Isolation 4: As Graff indicates in the pre-action dialogue, he will isolate Ender before arrival at Battle School. By telling the rest of the launch group that Ender is the only excellent mind in the group, Graff quickly allows the rest of the group to become distrustful of Ender.

Graff manipulated Ender by isolating Ender from the rest of the kids at Battle School and controlling Ender’s every move. He did this with the purpose that Ender would learn to solve problems on his own without expecting a helping hand and therefore make Ender strong enough to destroy the buggers.
