“Exciting new things” apparently means no more Colourpop at Sephora. You guys have removed the brand entirely from the site. Pretty sure its because Ulta set up a better arrangement with them.

Sephora didn’t carry the complete Colourpop Collection but merely a few items from the core collection plus some exclusive palettes and sets. It was a rather small launch but an exciting one none the less for fan’s of the brand. Fast forward a few months and now Colourpop has completely disappeared from sephora.com.

MAC will probably never be sold at Sephora. Their stores only carry MAC products, nothing else. Plus, MAC offers discounts for professional makeup artists. Sephora does not have a pro discount program in place.

Yes, MAC Makeup Is Coming To Ulta This Spring. As most MAC-o-philes are well aware, MAC Cosmetics is sold at MAC counters in department stores in malls and at standalone MAC boutiques. The edgy beauty brand has always been a behemoth unto itself and is not currently sold at Sephora.

Many brands sold in Sephora do have their own stores. The reason why MAC Cosmetics aren’t sold in Sephora is because the Makeup Forever brand, sold in Sephora, is a competitor to MAC makeup. Another reason is that both Sephora and Makeup Forever are owned by a conglomerate company called LVMH.

Comparing the two is really apples and oranges (or like comparing a boutique to a department store). MAC is just one brand; Sephora has many brands. MAC is great for make up artistry and has a large shade range (within one line), but Sephora also offers a great selection of different ranges, from mid to higher end.

Re: Why is Sephora so expensive??? Sephora only really controls the price of their house brand – not all the other brands. Sephora is mainly just a reseller – a convenient place for people to shop a lot of higher end brands in one location.
