An iPhone usually says a SIM is not supported because your iPhone is locked to your carrier. This means you can’t insert a SIM card from a different carrier if you switch. To check if your iPhone is locked, open Settings and tap General -> About -> Carrier Lock. An unlocked iPhone will say No SIM Restrictions.

Remove your SIM card from the SIM card tray and then put the SIM card back. Make sure that the SIM tray closes completely and isn’t loose. If you use a SIM tray from a different model iPhone, iPad, or from another phone manufacturer, it might not fit properly.

To bypass the SIM card not supported issue and activate your iPhone, connect your iPhone to your computer and launch the latest version of iTunes. Choose Set up as new iPhone in the app and it will activate your iPhone 6S, iPhone 6, or whatever model you have bypassing the SIM card not supported issue.

Contact your network service provider and make sure the SIM ID on the card matches the SIM ID in your account with the service provider. Insert the SIM after your account has been updated. Restart your phone again and allow the activation process to complete fully.

Call the number associated with the SIM If you should receive the free signal and see the incoming call or receive the related message phone turned off or unreachable (if you had not inserted the SIM in any phone), the number is most likely still active, at least for incoming calls.

How to Reactivate an Old SIM Card

1. Remove the SIM card from the handset.
2. Write down the numbers that are printed on the SIM card.
3. Contact your wireless provider to activate your SIM card.
4. Give the IMEI number and SIM card number to your customer service agent.

Providing the grace period will lead to complications, as 60 days is a long period for a customer to use a connection. The number should be disconnected on 60th day. Post 60 days the numbers is deactivated and sent for re-manufacturing and pairing with a new SIM.

A SIM card is deactivated when it has not been used in the last 6 months. To stop deactivation do any one of the following actions at least once every 6 months: Make at least one call, SMS or MMS to another number (This does not including calls to Emergency Services or Member Services)

If you don’t recharge after these 15 days and don’t have sufficient balance, incoming calls will also stop, and the number can be disconnected. SIM Card operators follow a 60 Days grace period.

And as per Indian telecom rules, the service provider deactivates a number that is not in use for more than 90 days.

A deactivated phone number is one that a mobile operator has taken out of service for an end user, either because the end user has switched operator or has otherwise closed their account. Eventually all deactivated numbers are recycled and activated for new subscribers.

It can be in two ways. 1. Reactivation of old connection with the same identity you provided previously or 2. Activation of a new connection with the same number to you as the number is still available to issue (Operators normally demand to take a post paid connection to select the specific number).

If the phone rings numerous times, but goes to voicemail, that may mean the phone number is still in service. If the number is not in service, when you call it may ring once or twice but you will then get an automated message. This message will state that the number is no longer in service, or something similar.

To find an even number, look at the ones digit, or the digit to the very right of the number. (the ones digit in 5382 would be 2.) If the ones digit is either 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8, then the number is even. If the ones digit is either1, 3, 5, 7, or 9, then the number is odd.

if someone changes their number, when you try to phone them on the old number, you’ll get some message saying the number is not in service or something. if a phone is just switched off, you’ll still get voice mail, or maybe a message that says it’s unavailable at the moment.
