Pietyr did, in fact, only throw Katharine into the Breccia because he thought he was saving her from a much worse fate. What Happened in Two Dark Reigns? Arsinoe: After being taken down by Katharine during the ceremonial hunt, Arsinoe was brought by Jules to the Black Cottage to recover. She’s been practicing her poisoning, but still hasn’t quite gotten the hang of it—she accidentally killed two suitors and almost took Billy out, too.

What Happened in One Dark Throne? Arsinoe: Arsinoe attempted to fake her way through the Quickening by having a bear “familiar” bound to her best friend, Jules. However, Jules lost control and the bear attacked Mirabella.

During their escape from Indrid Down, Joseph is severely injured by a guard. Joseph dies on the boat ride to the Mainland with Mirabella, Arsinoe, and Billy. After Joseph’s death, Jules is brokenhearted and becomes cold and distant to those around her.

How did Two Dark Reigns end? Luca suggests trying to bring Mirabella to Katharine’s side. She thinks Mirabella will since she raised her and thinks it can be done with an appeal to history and the law. Katharine is skeptical but agrees to let her try.
