He bombed Kempeitai headquarters, but unexpectedly survived the blast and was taken to the secret Jewish community of Sabra in the Neutral Zone to recover, where he was inspired to produce the “sunrise” protest art. He was later captured in Denver, Colorado by Chief Inspector Takeshi Kido and then beheaded.

Conor Leslie as Trudy Walker (seasons 1–3), Juliana’s half-sister who is shot dead by the Kempeitai. However, she is shown alive at the end of the second season, revealed in the third season to be from an alternate timeline in which it was Juliana who died.

He shows her his collection of films from alternate realities and asks her to identify a man spotted in most of them. After telling him that the man looks familiar but she doesn’t recognize him, Juliana is shot in the arm by Gary, a Resistance member and passes out.

We learn, early on in the first moments of Season 4, that Juliana transported herself out of John Smith’s (Rufus Sewell) clutches in the main universe and landed in an alt-universe, complete with newly received gunshot wound.

Joe’s feelings for Juliana made him change his mind as he did not want her to get discovered by the Nazis and face interrogation. However, Juliana and Frank see in one of the films that Joe is a Nazi officer who will shoot Frank in the head, and kill him.

Well, this episode finally came through, as The Man in the High Castle reached the midway point of the season with the brutal death of Joe Blake.

Unfortunately for both him and his family, he was diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, a congenital disease which would slowly weaken and paralyze him.

Thomas has a serious degenerative disease called Landouzy-Dejerine Syndrome. It’s classified as a class A congenital disorder. Smith tries to deny this diagnosis, but soon realizes his son’s awful fate. As we learned when Joe spotted ash falling from the sky in the Midwest, the Nazis kill any sick or crippled people.

Last. Reichsführer John Smith was a former U.S Army Captain who joined the SS following the surrender of the United States. He consequently became the first American to be promoted to the rank of Oberst-Gruppenführer.

Thomas had been killed off in the second season, but in the Alt-World, he’s very much alive. Oddly, there was no sign of Ed McCarthy (DJ Qualls), Juliana’s best friend who had run off with his cowboy lover Jack (James Neate) at the end of Season 3.

Was Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa just unavailable to work for this final season or something? Because it felt like they had to write him out of the show last minute and had planned to have him have a much greater role to play before this season. Very disappointing.

The Man in the High Castle ended on November 15, 2019 so, there won’t be a fifth season.

In “Detonation”, it is revealed that Kotomichi is in fact originally from a universe similar to our own, in which Japan lost World War II and Nagasaki was destroyed by an atomic bomb. As a result of the nuclear destruction, Kotomichi lost his family and was gravely injured.

Last. Hawthorne Abendsen, also known as “The Man in the High Castle”, is a mysterious character believed to have created the series of films known as The Grasshopper Lies Heavy, which shows alternate histories.

Film reel of “The Grasshopper Lies Heavy” given to Juliana by her sister. Hawthorne Abendsen, the “Man in the High Castle” is a collector of these films. It was later revealed that the films had actually came from different parallel universes.

In The Man in the High Castle, “the man in the high castle” is Hawthorne Abendsen, the author who lives in a fortified house that is called—wait for it—”The High Castle” (6.116). However, Abendsen no longer lives in that “High Castle,” ever since he developed of phobia about his elevator (15.69).
