“Neon” is a song recorded by American country music artist Chris Young. It was released in March 2012 as the third single and title track from his album Neon (2011). The song was written by Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne and Trevor Rosen….Year-end charts.

The largest use of neon is in making the ubiquitous ‘neon signs’ for advertising. In a vacuum discharge tube neon glows a reddish orange colour. Neon is also used to make high-voltage indicators and switching gear, lightning arresters, diving equipment and lasers. Liquid neon is an important cryogenic refrigerant.

Neon is used in vacuum tubes, high-voltage indicators, lightning arresters, wavemeter tubes, television tubes, and helium–neon lasers. Liquefied neon is commercially used as a cryogenic refrigerant in applications not requiring the lower temperature range attainable with more extreme liquid-helium refrigeration.

Neon is used in advertising glow tubes because: – When electricity is passed through neon, it starts glowing in an an orange-red color. – As it has a very good glowing property, so it used in sign boards, etc. – Also it is a noble gas, so it does not undergo any reactions and thus can be used effectively.

Neon is one of the inert gases within the Periodic Table. It means that this element is chemically inactive and will not react to any other element. When it comes to exploding, the answer is relative. Given that Neon is nonreactive, it can’t explode itself.

The neon signage craze spread like wildfire and became a veritable staple in outdoor advertising. Even though it was more expensive than other forms of signage at the time, businesses saw it as a novelty used to keep them competitive. The most notable innovation came with fluorescent tube coatings.

While they are used worldwide, neon signs were popular in the United States from about the 1920s to 1950s. The installations in Times Square, many originally designed by Douglas Leigh, were famed, and there were nearly 2,000 small shops producing neon signs by 1940.

When they are backlit by fluorescent or LED lights, they look just as though you are looking up through a skylight. The bright blue sky and fluffy white clouds look extremely real.

It turns out that a better name for neon colors is “fluorescent”. Fluorescent colors appear unnaturally bright because they are. They contain pigments which are made up of molecules which are very efficient at absorbing high frequency light and then emitting lower frequency light.

Because yellow light is a mixture of red and green light, yellow will also reflect red and green light. Yellow does not contain blue, so it will appear black under blue light. White objects reflect all light, so will appear to be the colour of the light on them.

A neon light is the sort of light you see used in advertising signs. These tubes emit light in different colors. A fluorescent light, on the other hand, is most often a long, straight tube that produces white light. You see fluorescent lights in offices, stores and some home fixtures.

As adjectives the difference between bright and neon is that bright is visually dazzling; luminous, lucent, clear, radiant; not dark while neon is (of a color) extremely bright; fluorescent.
