Description. When David Patrick Kelly asked Walter Hill who Luther was calling, Hill responded “The Boss”. Kelly made up a character as “The Boss” who combined political corruption with gangsterism. The Boss was a person who Luther knew from an early age, someone who he was eager to please.

The new documentary from Shan Nicholson (and produced by Jim Carrey) charts the untold story of the real-life ‘Warriors’. This later became the inspiration behind the gang summit at the beginning of The Warriors, where leader of the Gramercy Riffs shouts “CAN YOU DIG IT?” five too many times.

The Meeting and Battle with the Warriors When a conclave was called by Cyrus, the leader of the Gramercy Riffs, in Van Cortlandt Park, the Bronx, the Punks were one of the gangs that attended the meeting. The Punks were represented by nine delegates at the meeting, where they witnessed the death of Cyrus.

In the original script for the movie, Cleon is killed by the Grammercy Riffs, Cochise is killed by the Baseball Furies, Ajax is caught by the police, Vermin is killed by the Lizzies, and Swan gets kidnapped by the Dingos. This leaves only four Warriors in the battle with the Punks.

The movie—about a Coney Island gang trying to make it home from the Bronx after being framed for the murder of the city’s most powerful warlord—is a cult classic today.

Dressed in New York Yankee baseball outfits and with multi-coloured face-paint, the Furies don’t speak and silently chase after The Warriors armed with baseball bats. They are a gang with plenty of strength and stamina and are a very distinct gang due to their striking appearance and mute nature.

Like their rival gang, The Saracens, The Jones Street Boys are from Bensonhurst. This gang wears an outfit with black and yellow stripes. A Jones Street Boy can be seen in the foreground of the image above. The Moonrunners can be seen wearing silver jackets during the conclave scenes.
