Jax and Sonya run into Sub-Zero and the group starts talking. They’re interrupted by Ermac, who Jax then goes to attack. Unfortunately for Jax, Ermac has psychic powers. Ermac then freezes Jax and proceeds to blow his arms off.

When Jackson “Jax” Briggs was introduced in Mortal Kombat II, he was Sonya Blade’s shirtless muscleman CO and, for the game, roster replacement. Originally, the story behind his new arms was that Jax chose to get the cybernetic enhancements in order to better protect Earthrealm from Shao Kahn’s impending invasion.

In the current timeline, Jax perished at the hands of Sindel and was revived as a revenant by Quan Chi, whom he was forced to serve. Although he was eventually freed and brought back to life, his experiences as a revenant left him traumatized, reducing the once fierce warrior to a broken shell of his former self.

While Sonya survives, Jax is killed and resurrected by Quan Chi in the Netherealm as one of his undead revenant slaves. Jax returns as a playable character in Mortal Kombat X. Two years after he was enslaved by Quan Chi, Raiden and Sonya manage to resurrect him.

After he defeats Scorpion, Sub-Zero is captured and turned into a cyborg instead of Smoke and forced to serve the otherworldly dimension Outworld and its tyrannical ruler, Shao Kahn. It is explained in the tie-in comics that Quan Chi used his magic to recreate his original body to free him of his cyborg body.

Outside of the tournament, telekinetic ninja Ermac destroys Jax’s arms in a confrontation, forcing him to return to Earth for medical attention. However, while Jax gets his cybernetic arms, they don’t do him much good and he dies alongside most of Raiden’s forces after an attack by the Lin Kuei and Sindel.

Jax’s Arcana awoke after he tried to save Sonya Blade from a giant rock. His Arcana upgraded his prosthetic arms, which became much stronger than before. Kano’s Arcana awoke after an argument with Kung Lao and Liu Kang during dining. His Arcana allowed him to shoot a Laser from his right eye.

In Mortal Kombat (2011), Sektor, Cyrax and Cyber Sub-Zero are the only cyborgs with unique color schemes and designs. Every other Lin Kuei Cyborg uses a gray scale version of Cyrax or Sektor’s design; no generic cyborg with Cyber Sub-Zero’s design is ever seen.

Major Jackson Briggs, nicknamed “Jax,” makes his first chronological appearance in the 2000 action-adventure game Mortal Kombat: Special Forces, in which he attempts to stop Kano and the Black Dragon crime organization from stealing an artifact capable of opening portals to other realms.

He made his debut in Mortal Kombat II . Jax made his debut in Mortal Kombat II. He is portrayed as an archetypal African-American hero. In the Special Forces ‘ chain of command, he is Sonya Blade ‘s direct superior and the catalyzing force of Sonya’s impulsiveness.

Triborg is the only complete cyborg as a playable character in Mortal Kombat X. Frost is the first female cyborg in the series. She is also the first Cyber Lin Kuei to keep her original head frame. Similar to Triborg in MKX, Frost is the only complete cyborg to be a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11.
