The Twelve Colonies are situated within the star system Cyrannus, located some 2,000 light years from Kobol, where humanity presumedly first evolved. 2 Answers. The series did reach a conclusion – there is definitely an ending to most of the storylines that are introduced throughout the series. In short, the series reaches a conclusion – but if you didn’t enjoy it enough to get through a few episodes, then it probably isn’t worth forcing your way through the rest.

It has its flaws and it’s nothing like BSG, however it is canon and it’s pretty neat seeing the history and life on caprica. It’s worth watching. It’s really interesting to hold up what you’ve been told about Granpa Adama from BSG to what you see in the show. Blood and Chrome wasn’t bad.

Caprica is set far enough back in time from BSG that you can watch the two independently. I would suggest watching the pilots for both and then following first whichever series interests you the most. The series is never as incredible as it was in the first season, and there are chunks of the second and third seasons that could be cut out without losing anything, in terms of the overall plot and character arcs. But, overall, it is definitely worth watching; in fact, I’d recommend watching it twice.
