On June 25, 2009, the music world stopped spinning when news broke of the death of Michael Jackson.

He owns a 1968 Shelby GT500KR — the KR stands for “King of the Road” — a beefed-up, modified Ford Mustang from back when customizer Carroll Shelby was in his heyday. The car was one of the more powerful of its time, thanks to its 428 Cobra Jet engine.

Biography. Robbins was born in Glendale, a suburb of Phoenix in Maricopa County, Arizona. His mother was mostly of Paiute Indian heritage. Robbins grew up in a difficult family situation.

Marty’s final NASCAR race car was a 1981 Buick Regal that he rented and drove in a few races in 1981 and 1982. In addition to his recordings and performances, Robbins was an avid race car driver, competing in 35 career NASCAR races with six top-10 finishes, including the 1973 Firecracker 400.
