The Elephant and Castle Hotel, a popular city pub, was located on the corner of West Terrace and Gilbert Street. Its owner, Leo Kenny, was well-liked by the pub’s patrons. Many of his faithful customers were associated with the funeral business as the West Terrace Cemetery is located just across the road.

The name “Elephant and Castle”is derived from the name of a pub/coaching inn located at this major crossroad. The inn was rebuilt in 1816 and again in 1898, and the present Elephant & Castle pub, at the junction of New Kent Road and Newington Causeway, was part of 1960s comprehensive redevelopment.

RESPECT THE HISTORY, ENJOY THE FUTURE. Recently purchased by paparazzi king Darryn Lyons, The Elephant & Castle Hotel situated on the eastern fringe of the city of Geelong has been part of the landscape in town for many a year.

Elephant & Castle operates a chain of British pub-themed restaurants, including a popular downtown Boston location on Devonshire St.

One of London’s more interestingly named neighborhoods, Elephant and Castle is an interesting place. It’s well connected to other parts of the city and has a nice community, but it isn’t a place that’s particularly loved by Londoners.

There are still sketchy zones around Elephant & Castle, especially all the way down the Walworth road after the Heygate street. The worst part is probably near the Argos and I wouldn’t recommend you walking there at night. Elephant and Castle still has a lot of poverty, crime and inequality.

Safety and crime Despite a strong sense of community, crime does happen in Elephant and Castle and levels are slightly higher than average in areas like North Walworth when it comes to issues like anti-social behaviour.

Elephant and Castle has a high violent crime rate and a high property crime rate for London.

An authentic take on the English pub, Elephant & Castle Pub and Restaurant has been recently renovated and offers an extensive list of beer, whiskey, and delicious food. With a plethora of events from Wine Down Wednesday to happy hour with 1/2 price food, you’re sure to find something you enjoy locally, any night of the week!

The team here at elephant & castle swooped in and fixed the situation. They went above and beyond. I’m so impressed. More importantly, the chicken sliders on their late night menu are delicious. The food quantities are more than enough for late night munchies. This tourist is very happy that her late night, post flight meal, was here.

The atmosphere is great and has TV’s for sports. The staff are attentive and very friendly (some of the best service I’ve had). The stuffed Yorkshire pudding is fantastic and the fish and chips are tasty. Also, the staff wear masks and sanitizer between customers. The tables are spaced and if a comfortable place to eat at.
