Uber Metagame Analysis

The Uber tier is a tier that prominently features Legendary Pokemon and Pokemon with base stat totals above 600. This is the only tier that allows the use of Legendaries such as Kyogre or Mewtwo. However, Mega Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo X/Y are banned from this tier as they are viewed as too powerful for this tier.

OU Offers the most amount of Pokémon without being broken. Ubers power level is just super high, it locks out Pokémon with normal strategies.

Shadow Tag The first reason Mega Gengar is banned to ubers is because of its ability. Shadow Tag causes you to unable to switch, meaning you will most likely lose your Pokemon to Gengar unless you can take it out in one hit.

Therefore, though Zacian is a powerful Pokemon in the Ubers metagame, I do not see it as dominating at all. +1 252 Atk Marshadow Spectral Thief vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Zacian: 190-225 (58.4 – 69.2%) — guaranteed 2HKO. Chip from Rocky Helmet and Rocks can help bring this to an OHKO.

UUBL (UnderUsed Banlist) is the banlist for UU and is not a playable tier. UUBL Pokémon are not OU by usage (i.e., they do not have above 3.41% usage in OU) but cannot be used in UU, RU, NU, or PU.

Unlike tiers, Ubers is not based on usage, so usage within Ubers does not result in a Pokémon ceasing to be in the OU tier. In addition to banning specific Pokémon, each format may also ban certain moves, Abilities, items, or even the usage of particular game mechanics (such as Dynamax).

Zacian-Hero is Banned from SS Ubers with a 79.52% supermajority.

Quagsire has one main purpose in Ubers: to be one of the best Kyogre checks in the game. Quagsire’s main downfall is its low offensive power. This makes it an easy Pokemon to set up against, and it’s especially vulnerable to Pokemon with Taunt.

Ubers is not influenced by Pokémon usage in OU, UU, RU, NU, or PU and the usage of Pokémon in Ubers has no influence on the compositions of those tiers. While the Ubers tier aims to create a metagame with minimal bans, the community may deem elements present in the metagame to be too strong or uncompetitive.

No Pokemon from the uber tier are allowed in ou battles. BL: this isn’t a tier but a ban list. No Pokemon from here are allowed in Uu and below. Uu (underused): this is the “middle” tier, containing mostly above average Pokemon, such as scrafty and bronzong.

It is almost full of only legendaries like ho-oh, lugia, mewtwo, etc. but there are also a few non legendaries like excadrill and blaziken. In Ubers, a strategy or Pokemon may appear to be broken; this doesn’t matter as Ubers is essentially a ban list for OU, and nothing is currently too broken to be used in Ubers.
