The New England Patriots signed the trick-shot kicker Josh Gable to their practice squad. Gable has never kicked in the NFL but has posted videos of himself making wild kicks from as deep as 80 yards out.

Rest assured, they’d do the same with field goals. If you somehow have a kicker that can reliably make a 100 yard field goal with the regularity that elite kickers make normal (30–50 yard) goals, you can easily go undefeated.

“The rule states that if the ball is above the upright, it’s good,” Dawson said. The rule says: “The entire ball must pass through the vertical plane of the goal, which is the area above the crossbar and between the uprights or, if above the uprights, between their outside edges.”
