Pavetta was born in 1237 – when her mother was only 15 years old. She married the formerly cursed Duny and gave birth to Ciri when she was only about 16 years old or so.

It is later revealed that Duny was none other than Emperor Emhyr Var Emreis of Nilfgaard. He had started his expansion by conquering the northern realms. He specifically targeted Cintra as that was where his daughter was and he wanted to take her away with him back to Nilfgaard as heir to his throne.

This essentially gave Ciri the capability to open a portal anywhere and travel instantaneously. Additionally, it seems this power for her is quite limitless as she’s also able to travel to different worlds or even different dimensions. As far as all magical creatures go, this means Ciri is the most powerful.

Ciri has Elder Blood because a certain elven sorceress named Lara Dorren fell in love with a human mage named Cregennan of Lod. Their daughter, later adopted by Cerro, the queen of Redania was named Riannon. Ciri is the descendant of Riannon. Ciri’s Elder Blood is another reason the King of the Wild Hunt is after her.

While Ciri’s powers might make her incredibly fast in combat, one can’t write off Yennefer’s agility altogether. After all, Yennefer’s known to have incredibly fast attacking speed, with her foes having no chance to respond due to the sheer barrage of attacks they face against this powerful sorceress.

The simplest answer is that Ciri has left Geralt and Yennefer because they are dead. Both died in Rivia, Ciri guided them to the afterlife and then Ciri decided to leave the continent and live a life as a witcher in King Arthur’s land. The same goes for Yennefer and Geralt in Sapkowski’s world.

Ciri is at the center of The Witcher now because she is such a valuable person and has the ability to control the fates of so many characters, including Geralt and Yennefer, who ultimately become her surrogate parents through their care and training.

She’s going to age normally like an ordinary human unless she halts the process with magic, which is advanced sorcery she’s never learned. She’s about as much an elf as Yusuke was a demon. The blood empowers her, but is diluted to the point that it’s not going to affect her physiology.

Her most famous prophecy warns of the arrival of an unstoppable natural disaster which she calls “The White Frost” (essentially an Ice Age). As well, this prophecy binds the fate of the Continent with the lineage of the Elder Blood. The text of the prophecy opens the series’ first full-length novel, Blood of Elves.

Ciri hasn’t undergone any mutations. She trained as a witcher when she was young, but never underwent the mutations, so her swordplay is not bad. She just lacks the superhuman reflexes, speed and senses that the mutations give witchers.
