A Soc Spy. Dally tells Johnny and Ponyboy how Cherry turned into a spy for them. Cherry came by the vacant lot shortly after their friend Two-Bit got beat up by a few Socs. Some of the gang wanted to jump her for being Bob’s girlfriend and for being a Soc.

I believe there are several themes covered in Chapter 6 of The Outsiders. One is that of owning up to one’s mistakes. Johnny decides for himself that he (along with Pony) is going to return to Tulsa and turn himself in to the authorities.

In chapter 6, Johnny Cade and Dally come into conflict when Johnny tells Dally that he plans to turn himself in to the police for the murder of Bob.

Both Ponyboy and Johnny leap through a window in search of the kids. When Ponyboy regains consciousness, he hears sirens. He assumes that he is in a police car until Jerry Wood (who accompanies him) tells him that they are in an ambulance, and Johnny and Dally are in the ambulance behind them.

Ponyboy’s jacket was on fire, and Dallas was trying to put it out. Dallas hit him on the back as a way of saying “good job!” Ponyboy realizes that Darry really cares about him and that’s why Darry seems to be so strict with him.

What word does Ponyboy use to describe the way Dally dies? Unfair. Gruesome.

According to Randy, Bob’s problem was that his parents never set any boundaries for him or punished him for his misbehavior. Whenever Bob would get into trouble, his parents would blame themselves, and Bob would go unpunished.

History. Sodapop told Ponyboy he was sure he was going to marry Sandy. However, when she got pregnant, she left to go live with her grandmother in Florida. Soda later runs off, saying he hates being in the middle, and it makes him feel more worse because she left him, and he loved her so much.

Bob was spoiled rotten, and his parents would take all the blame for his behavior. Randy believes that Bob simply wanted someone to tell him no and enforce a set of rules.

What do Johnny’s last words mean? Right before he dies in the hospital, Johnny says “Stay gold, Ponyboy.” Ponyboy cannot figure out what Johnny means until he reads the note Johnny left. Johnny writes that “stay gold” is a reference to the Robert Frost poem Ponyboy shared when they were hiding at the church.

Randy Adderson, a Soc who drives a fancy blue Mustang, tells Ponyboy that Bob’s parents spoiled him too much and gave him everything he wanted. ‘” According to Randy, Bob’s parents never said no to him, even though Bob wanted them to.

Dally can’t accept Johnny’s death because Johnny is the one thing in the world that Dally cares about. Dally has always watched out for Johnny in fights, and when Johnny dies, Dally feels he has nothing left that’s good in his life. Dally forces the police to kill him because of this.

Johnny accepted his death so peacefully because he got to die saving the little children from the church fire.

Ponyboy loved Johnny like a brother. He and Johnny were the best of friends. When Pony finds out that Johnny has died, he breaks down and cries. When Johnny dies Dally takes it horribly.

And even as the policemen’s guns spit fire into the night I knew that was what Dally wanted.” Dally depended so much on his friendship with Johnny and he felt so guilty about what happened to Johnny that he no longer felt he had anything to live for. He decided to commit assisted suicide.

In Chapter Ten, the Greasers get a phone call from Dally, who says that he robbed a grocery store and is being chased by the police. When the Greasers run out to meet Dally, the police surround him and he commits suicide by pulling an unloaded gun from his waistband.
