Buzz is Boyd has purchased Fiesta Henderson and Fiesta Rancho (currently owned by Station Casinos). Boyd doesn’t confirm or deny such rumors, but company recently raised $600 million, so there’s that.

The Henderson casino received unanimous approval from Henderson’s City Council to maintain its non-operational status until December 31, 2021. The two North Las Vegas venues both applied to extend their own year-long hiatus until June 4, 2022.

The two North Las Vegas casinos’ sibling casino, Fiesta Henderson on Lake Mead Parkway, also remains temporarily closed. Since COVID-19 restrictions have been relaxed, Station Casinos has reopened Boulder Station, Sunset Station, Santa Fe Station, Palace Station, Wildfire Gaming, Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Resort.

But this year, New Year’s Eve is scaled down. The fireworks show has been canceled, replaced by the virtual celebration, implosion and pyrotechnic show that starts fifteen minutes before midnight on www.VisitLasVegas.com.

Rio’s Copacabana Beach plays host each New Year’s Eve to Reveillon, the world’s largest and wildest New Year’s celebration. More than 2 million cariocas (Rio natives) congregate on the beach wearing stark white attire and filling a 2 1/2-mile stretch of sand.
