After taking your (captured alive!) bounty, stand outside the Sheriff’s Office until you’ve got about 30 seconds left on the timer. That’s how you can earn the most money possible from each bounty. For whatever reason, waiting out the timer gets you the most cash.

Rockstar is gracious enough to let you earn your 40 gold bars back in corporate scrip for progressing through the Outlaw Pass and yes, the Moonshining role is worth the price of entry, but the slow burn approach to earning your content in Red Dead Online is starting to become beneficial to Rockstar and Rockstar alone.

The Collector role in Red Dead Online tasks players with exploring the map in search for some of the rarest items that the wild west has to offer. Players can sell their items to Madam Nazar, a travelling saleswoman, to help them rank up in their Frontier Pursuit as well as earn some rewards.

The first time you meet her to register as a Collector, Madam Nazar is always in the same place: to the North-West of Armadillo in Cholla Springs, helpfully marked with a yellow icon on your map. However, after you buy a collector’s bag, she’ll begin to relocate across the world every 24 hours.

To start the Collector Role you will need to head into the East Grizzlies Region between Moonstone Pond and O’Creagh’s Run you will find a yellow marker to start the “To Become a Collector” Mission. Heading to this location will trigger yet another cutscene which allows you to start the Collector Role.

Depends on what you want/need. If you want little gold and a little cash then choose Bounty Hunter first. If you want no gold and a lot of cash then choose Collector. Eventually you’ll want both but it sounds like you’re hurting for gold so for you I’d suggest Bounty Hunter first.

There’s a lot in this update, but it all revolves around a new specialization system: players can now choose to be a bounty hunter, a trader or a collector, or any combination of the three. These come with their own items, abilities and cosmetics, letting you step into that old west role a little more thoroughly.

To become a Collector, you’ll have to meet Madam Nazar and buy a Collector’s Bag from her. A Collector’s Bag costs 15 Gold Bars. You can get this premium currency for real-world cash, but you can also find Gold Nuggets in RDO itself: 100 Gold Nuggets makes one Gold Bar.
