The Shanghai Astronomy Museum, the world’s largest planetarium, officially opened on Saturday and will welcome the public starting Sunday. Covering approximately 58,600 square meters, the museum is located in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Lingang Special Area.

Birla planetarium provides a parlance where astronomical presentations take place. It provides useful piece of information about our solar system, galaxies, life span of stars, space, planets and other heavenly bodies in the most interactive manner via audio video aids.

You can even buy the package ticket to visit both Birla Planetarium and Science Centre. The tickets are priced at ₹60 for adults and ₹30 for kids. The price includes the charges for exhibits, 3D shows and Science Park. The entry to Science on a Sphere show isn’t included.

The Planetarium was constructed by ML Dalmiya & Co. which is owned by Board of Control for Cricket in India former President late Jagmohan Dalmiya. It reopened to public on 18 July 2017, after closing down for 28 months of renovations work.

The B. M. Birla Auditorium is open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on all days of the week. The entry fees are INR 40 and an additional fee of INR 20 for the planetarium show.
