Qatar Airways still have free drinks and alcohol on all services, however during Ramadan the alcohol service is much more discrete, and there is no pre-flight sparkling wine. Drinks are always brought complete to your seat: there are no minitures on a trolley on Qatar Airways!

Doha Airport Bars and Restaurants You can get a drink – a real alcoholic one. Sure, the staff look at you oddly if you ask for a beer or a glass or wine without any food, but you can actually get it if you hold out long enough. Be warned however, the bar – and the whole airport come to that – is dry during Ramadan.

An airport concourse means duty-free shops, and duty-free shops mean spirits. And, while you might expect an Arabic country such as Qatar to be ‘dry’, it is tolerated and Hamad International Airport hosts a number of shops boasting duty-free spirits among their stock.

Gold is cheap in qatar as there is no tax. Also the quality of gold is also good. Just the making charges are lil bit high. You can opt for locally made chain having lower making charhes.

Re: WARNING Do not buy gold in Doha Airport. The situation is still the same as at now (late 2018). Markup over market rate is close to 15%. If your idea is to invest, this is not the place to purchase!
