In Norse cosmology, all beings live in Nine Worlds that center around the cosmological tree Yggdrasil. The gods inhabit the heavenly realm of Asgard whereas humanity inhabits Midgard, a region in the center of the cosmos.

Why is the “Theogony” Important? The “Theogony is important simply because it is one of the oldest pieces of literature from ancient Greece known. Given its subject matter, it provides a snapshot of what Greek literary and religious traditions during Hesiod’s lifetime were like.

When Cronus castrated Uranus, from Uranus’ blood which splattered onto the earth, came the Erinyes (Furies), the Giants, and the Meliai. Cronus threw the severed genitals into the sea, around which foam developed and transformed into the goddess Aphrodite.

According to chapter 9 of the Prose Edda book Gylfaginning, the three brothers Vili, Vé, and Odin, are the creators of the first man and woman. The brothers were once walking along a beach and found two trees there. They took the wood and from it created the first human beings; Ask and Embla.

Odin was born by a giant The giant cow Audhumbla fed herself on a block of salty ice, and while she was liking on the ice block something strange happened. Buri was a giant, big and handsome. He would later have a son called Borr, with his wife Bestla. Borr and Bestla would also have three sons, Odin, Vili, and Ve.

Because Odin is the true bad guy. Played by Anthony Hopkins, Odin Borson is King of Asgard and protector of the Nine Realms. He’s wise, patient, honourable, compassionate and just. Indeed, most of the trouble that has befallen Odin and Asgard can be traced back to the way he has treated his children.
