More than 100 years ago, in August 1911, the Mona Lisa was stolen off the walls of the Louvre in Paris. The famous Leonardo da Vinci painting wasn’t recovered until two years later, in December 1913.

On 21st August 1911, the Mona Lisa was stolen from the Salon Carré in the Louvre. The theft was discovered the following day when a painter wandered into the Louvre to admire the Mona Lisa, and instead discovered four metal pegs! He promptly alerted security, who in turn alerted the media.

Two years after it was stolen from the Louvre Museum in Paris, Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece The Mona Lisa is recovered inside Italian waiter Vincenzo Peruggia’s hotel room in Florence. After the recovery of The Mona Lisa, Peruggia was convicted in Italy of the robbery and spent just 14 months in jail.

The Ghostface costume is the outfit worn by the main antagonists of the Scream franchise, consisting of a rubber white mask with black eyes, nose, and mouth and black, cloth-like material, hooded-robe with faux-tatters draping from the arms and a spiked-trim to the base of the outfit.

The night of her murder, Casey was about to watch an unnamed horror film which began the conversation with Billy Loomis, her murderer in the Ghostface costume. While never explicitly stated, it is implied that Casey was killed by Stu because she had dumped Stu.

Stu: He started to hate Sidney only after she called the cops, but he was also sadistic. Even more than Billy. Also, he wanted to kill Casey and Steve after being dumped by Casey. Billy killed Tatum because she spoke poorly about him and his sexually attraction to Sidney?

Scream’s iconic villain Ghostface was inspired by a real serial killer who preyed on young students in the college town of Gainesville, Florida.
