By 2024, it’s projected to reach a maximum speed of 430,000 mph (692,000 km/h). As of the 27th of September 2020, the Parker Solar Probe has already accelerated to a speed of 289,927 mph (466,592 km/h) relative to the Sun, officially becoming the fastest spacecraft to date.

It is as enourmous as 279 trillion kilometers or 18,60,000 AU. You need to develop a Vehicle nothing less than 1/1000th the speed of light to transport to this gigantic distance it would take you minimum 31000 years.

So will it ever be possible for us to travel at light speed? Based on our current understanding of physics and the limits of the natural world, the answer, sadly, is no. So, light-speed travel and faster-than-light travel are physical impossibilities, especially for anything with mass, such as spacecraft and humans.

But to achieve true backward time travel, we’ll have to go even faster! So, simply going faster than light does not inherently lead to backwards time travel. Very specific conditions must be met—and, of course, the speed of light remains the maximum speed of anything with mass.

Since photons (particles of light) have no mass, they must obey E = pc and therefore get all of their energy from their momentum. But an object with zero energy and zero mass is nothing at all. Therefore, if an object with no mass is to physically exist, it can never be at rest. Such is the case with light.

The speed of light in a vacuum is 299,792.458 km per second – just shy of a nice round 300,000km/s figure. That is pretty nippy. The Sun is 150 million km away from Earth and light takes just eight minutes and 20 seconds to travel that far. Can any of our own creations compete in a race with light?
