The original tire size for your 2000 Ford Ranger is P225/70R15 100S.

The original tire size for your 2002 Ford Ranger is 31×10. 50R15/C 109Q.

• R15. One of the cheapest and most common tires used is the R15.
• R16. The R16 is a larger version of the R15 tire.
• R16 LT Variant. The LT variant is in the “light truck-metric” category of tires.

A 2 inch lift with correct rims will fit 33s . If you go down a tyre size it will still be all legal and less hassle . A 285 75 16 will be a better fit , with no need for a body lift .

Most IFS vehicles requires a minimum of 2.5 to 3-inch lift with additional trimming of fender liners and body mounts to accommodate a 33” tire. A Solid Front Axle vehicles can accommodate a 33” tire easier with less modifications. Fitting bigger tires is the single most effective way of improving ground clearance.

A 4-inch lift is considered standard and comparatively doesn’t affect maneuverability or gas mileage. A 6-inch lift can cost thousands of dollars more, and can also end up using more fuel and make the vehicle less drivable. The 2-inch difference can also be illegal in many states.

Lift kits. If the goal for lifting your ride is greater ground-clearance and off-road capabilities, a suspension lift kit is the way to go. This pricier solution delivers an overall boost of anywhere from 4” to 6”, but, if you’re looking to roll with 35” tires or larger, you’ll probably need to go north of 4 inches.

Your going to need the rough country 4.5″ lift if you want 33’s. Even at 4.5″ of lift, minor fender trimming is needed in the front for 33’s.
