Zeus. Red, White, and Blue: The king of the gods’ domain is the sky; his perception of fate is acute.

As the chief Greek deity, Zeus is considered the ruler, protector, and father of all gods and humans. Zeus is often depicted as an older man with a beard and is represented by symbols such as the lightning bolt and the eagle.

It has a dark blueish metallic color as opposed as to the previously shown figures which were white. Blue is linked to the sky and after all he is the god of sky and thunder.

Zeus would help the other gods, goddesses, and mortals if they needed help, but would also invoke his wrath upon them if he felt they weren’t worthy of his help. This made Zeus the strongest Greek god in Greek mythology.

Zeus’ sacred animals were the eagle and the bull. In myth he abducted the youth Ganymede in the shape of an eagle and the maiden Europa in the guise of a bull. His sacred plants were the evergreen holm oak and the olive tree. Eagle; 2. Bull; 3.

Zeus was not afraid of almost anything. However, Zeus was afraid of Nyx, the goddess of night. Nyx is older and more powerful than Zeus.

When Zeus was born, his mother had taken him away to be raised by a shepherd family. His father, fearing a prophecy, swallowed all of his children when they were born.

After the battle with the Titans, Zeus shared the world with his elder brothers, Poseidon and Hades, by drawing lots: Zeus got the sky and air, Poseidon the waters, and Hades the world of the dead (the underworld).

Zeus in the Bible. Two ancient inscriptions discovered in 1909 near Lystra testify to the worship of these two gods in that city. One of the inscriptions refers to the “priests of Zeus”, and the other mentions “Hermes Most Great”” and “Zeus the sun-god”.

Zeus was the sixth child of Kronos & Rhea. His other full siblings had been eaten by Kronos as soon as they were born (Kronos had been hoping to avoid one of them overthrowing him) Rhea however gave birth to Zeus in a cave on Mount Ida in Crete where she hid him.
