The Zhou government was based on the feudal system which incorporated land divisions that were ruled by relatives of the King. During the Zhou Dynasty two important religions or philosophies emerged – Confucianism and Taoism. Confucianism was born from the ideas and teachings of the Chinese philosopher Confucius.

Bronzes have been cast in China for about 3,700 years. Most bronzes of about 1500–300 bce, roughly the Bronze Age in China, may be described as ritual vessels intended for the worship of ancestors, who are often named in inscriptions on the bronzes.

Trade was increased, towns grew up, coinage was developed, chopsticks came into use, and the Chinese writing system was created out of its primitive beginnings in the Shang period.

The technology that was developed in China during the Zhou dynasty was a new irrigation system, saddles, and stirrups were developed.

It expanded China’s foreign economic trade and made the world know China. At the same time, it promoted the trade between China and other countries in the world, and achieved mutual benefit and reciprocity, laying a good foundation for future cooperation. In addition, silk also brought about the progress of the world.

The high mountains and vast deserts helped China develop a unique culture.
