Star Wars creator George Lucas says he sold the franchise to Disney as he wanted to spend time with his family and raise his daughter. Lucas created the Star Wars universe with the original movie, released in 1977….

A new report indicates that Lucas will be “more heavily involved” with the upcoming season of The Mandalorian — Season 3 — than he has ever been before. No additional details are offered and Lucas’s involvement has not been confirmed by Disney or Lucasfilm executives at this time….

Although he no longer owns Star Wars, he would still be entitled to royalties. Yes he sold Star Wars, but he’d still be raking in money those films continue to make. On Episode VII, he’d at least be getting writer royalties because they are his characters.

According to Men’s Health, Hamill was paid somewhere between $1-3 million for his efforts in The Force Awakens alone. Keep in mind that in the film, he was essentially paid to stand there and remove his hood….

Since the sale to Disney, Lucas has admitted he hasn’t been particularly pleased with where the studio took the sequel trilogy. But despite the new Lucasfilm ignoring the notes he left behind, he has had to make peace with that. And according to Duncan’s book, he has no regrets….
