Industrialization, along with new inventions in transportation including the railroad, generated economic growth. There was now a large working class, and this would eventually lead to conflict between workers and factory owners. Working men and women led strikes to demand better working conditions.

This was a period of economic development and wealth transfer in the United States when every American was a potential Andrew Carnegie. This was the hypothesis, originally proposed by Andrew Carnegie, that wealth was the great end and aim of man, and that those with it had a responsibility to put it to good use.

In the politics of representative democracies, a political machine is a political group in which an authoritative leader or small group command the support of a corps of supporters and businesses (usually campaign workers), who receive patronage as reward for their efforts.

Gangs roaming the poor neighborhoods committed more serious crimes. New social classes emerged due to urbanization during the industrial revolution. This led to a class divide, where the workers in the factories became the have-nots and the factory owners, with their huge wealth became the haves.

It was a time that America grew and had an immense change but it was also a time where people struggles. There was child labor, unsafe/unhealthy working conditions, dirty streets and tenements and many accidents. Making money is excellent and very important but its not everything.

The Industrial Revolution had many positive effects. Among those was an increase in wealth, the production of goods, and the standard of living. People had access to healthier diets, better housing, and cheaper goods. In addition, education increased during the Industrial Revolution.
