Jesus had five brothers, namely, James (Ya’qov), Simon (Shim’on), Judah (Yehudah), Joses (Yosef) and Thomas (Toma’). And he also had two sisters, Rachel (Rakhel) and Lea (Le’ah).

His mission was to change our way of thinking so that we would know the love of God. He came driven by an immense love, to suffer for us. Also, to purge our sins showing us how to live. He came to live in this world to complete the mission which is to suffer and die for our sins on the cross.

In one sense, you are always living in God’s purpose. God is God and He works all things, including your life, according to his purposes. Psalm 57:2 says, “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.” This is key in understanding God’s purpose for your life.

When Jesus was born, no last name was given. He was simply known as Jesus but not of Joseph, even though he recognized Joseph as his earthly father, he knew a greater father from which he was his loin. But since he was of his mother’s womb, he could be referred to as Jesus of Mary.

The Gospel of Mark (6:3) and the Gospel of Matthew (13:55–56) mention James, Joseph/Joses, Judas/Jude and Simon as brothers of Jesus, the son of Mary.

In Pullman’s version of the story, Jesus has a twin brother named Christ. “I was intrigued, you see, by the difference between the two parts of the name Jesus Christ that we commonly use interchangeably,” Pullman says.

Based on their understanding of scriptures such as Revelation 14:1-4, Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that exactly 144,000 faithful Christians go to heaven to rule with Christ in the kingdom of God.
