“The Garden of Love” is a poem by English Romantic visionary William Blake. Blake was devoutly religious, but he had some major disagreements with the organized religion of his day. The poem expresses this, arguing that religion should be about love, freedom, and joy—not rules and restrictions.

The garden represents Paradise, but also fertility. This painting is an allegory and exaltation of love and marriage, as well as the merry company. The Garden of Love is believed to be celebration of his marriage to Rubens’ wife: Hélène Fourment.

Romantic poem

William Blake capitalizes the words Garden and Love, because their meaning are much more deeper than the simple interpretation of the word. Love with a capital letter is more to be taken like a First Love: the same love that was given to man from God.

Feelings, however, can be fleeting. No one seems to want to talk about how those loving feelings can fade, that it takes work to keep the love alive, and that choosing to stay in love is a choice we all must make. Who we love is as much of a choice as it is a feeling. Staying in love takes a commitment.

Yes it is normal for feelings to fade over time in a relationship. Love can fade for a variety of reasons and it is always better to make efforts to keep love alive in your relationship. Sometimes it can be because of a difference in opinion or one person may love something the other person doesn’t like as much.
