Apart from the 1972 Dolphins, three NFL teams have completed undefeated and untied regular seasons: the 1934 Chicago Bears, the 1942 Chicago Bears, and the 2007 New England Patriots.

Last undefeated team by season

Just ask Aaron Baughman. The IBM data scientist’s fantasy football team ran the table, going undefeated in the regular season, putting up a 13-0 record.

You need at least 10 teams for a league, and 12 would be ideal (14 is just silly; you’ve got to cap it somewhere). Eight teams can also work, but then you run the risk of having a waiver wire with so much depth that shrewd drafting can be rendered moot.

8 teams — typically the smallest size league. Great for beginners and those that are new to fantasy football. 10–12 teams — this is the most common form of league in fantasy football. This is usually the sweet spot for a varied draft and in-season action.

Standard Roster: A standard roster typically consists of 16 players, 9 starters and 7 bench spots. The starters include 1 QB, 2 Running Backs (RB), 2 Wide Receivers (WR), 1 Tight End (TE), 1 Kicker (K) 1 Defense/Special Teams Unit (D/ST) and 1 “Flex” position.

When draft day arrives, all the owners in a fantasy football league gather at a central location or log into the specified web service’s draft utility and meet virtually. The goal for each owner is to draft a team roster of 15 to 18 players.

You can have a perfectly fun and serious 8-man just like any other. All that really changes is what constitutes a “good” team. I like this a lot. It’s a bigger roster, but still seems like it’ll function pretty much like a traditional FF team.

However, custom leagues can choose to draft from both NFC and AFC player pools, or the league manager can choose to create an AFC or NFC players-only game. Standard league rosters have slots for a total of sixteen (16) players per team. There are nine (9) starting slots.

A Superflex Fantasy Football league is a league that allows one flex position to be open to any offensive skill player — including quarterbacks. A standard flex spot in a Fantasy Football league allows for a running back, wide receiver, or tight end. In Superflex, the quarterbacks are also added into that mix.

Superflex is a fantasy industry term that actually refers to a position. It’s similar to a regular flex spot, with the caveat that quarterbacks can be started there, as well.

But when there is the option to start a quarterback in the flex spot, you will more than likely have a sizeable advantage if you draft two quarterbacks and start two quarterbacks each week.

Does the flex position score differently? No, the flex position will be scored in the same way the running back, wide receiver, and tight end positions are scored in your league. Typically, these positions receive 1 point for every 10 rushing or receiving yards accumulated, and 6 points for a touchdown scored.

In general terms, the flex tight end expands the matchup difficulty presented by a tight end. Now, all offenses will split their tight ends into the slot at least a little bit, but in particular, the Chiefs take this a step further, lining Travis Kelce up at pretty much every receiver position.

“Team QB” is a position in this style of fantasy play which refers to the full QB roster for the team you select. If your team plays three quarterbacks in a game, you earn points from all three players. When you include a team’s entire QB roster, the ups and downs of individual QBs on a team change completely.
