The Liquidator

The Liquidator Allstars in 1969, has been played before Chelsea matches for decades now. It is accompanied by clapping and a loud chant of “Chelsea” by everyone in the stadium. It has become the standard way for the Blues to get ready for a match.

Use at football matches “Liquidator” is a popular tune to play as UK football teams run out: Chelsea, Wycombe Wanderers, Northampton Town, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion, and St Johnstone all have claims to have been the first club to use it.

The players are called “the blues” for the colour of their kit and also “the Pensioners” because of the club’s affiliation with The Royal Hospital Chelsea retirement home for many years. So I suppose the Chelsea FC fans could be called by these names: Blues or Pensioners. How many players man/united wants to sign?

Many of the Chelsea fans would say that they’re only hated because the football world is jealous of their money and skill—and it could be true. Some people argue that the club bought their success from the investment of Roman Abramovich, which led them to become one of the most dominant teams in Europe.

Seagulls

Everton’s nickname is the Toffees, or sometimes the Toffeemen. This comes from one of two toffee shops that were located in Everton village at the time the club was founded. Both Ye Anciente Everton Toffee House and Old Mother Nobletts Toffee Shop claim to have started off the nickname.

Liverpool are the Catholic team and play in red at Anfield. Everton are the Protestant team and play in blue at Goodison Park.

Part of the rivalry is due to the two clubs’ home grounds having less than a mile between them and being within sight of each other across Stanley Park, with Everton at Goodison Park and Liverpool at Anfield.
