A hyperbole is a literary element that exaggerates things extremely. The first song I chose to use is “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars.

At the beginning of the song, the singer has used hyperbole. For example, ‘The snow glows white on the mountain tonight’. In reality, snow doesn’t glow. We can see the personification and simile in the following lines ‘The wind is howling like the swirling storm inside’.

Metaphors. ‘Love is an Open door’ is the only metaphor in this song. This quote is suggesting that love can make you feel welcomed,loved and special. Anna felt alone and not loved before Hans came along but now she feels like a special part of someones life.

This song also introduces the audience to the constant use of doors as a metaphor in the film. This doubles as a villain song, for it is later revealed that Hans’ love for Anna was not real love, and that he was only using her as a tool to marry into the throne, though the audience does not know this yet.
