Hope. Hope is the positive emotion we feel when we envision a brighter future and often helps us through hard times. Although it may be accompanied by fear or sadness, hope pushes us to take steps to create a better tomorrow through sustaining optimism and resilience.

Photographic Essay. It is a series of pictures that evoke an emotion, conveys an idea, or tell a story. Photographic Essay. It expresses an artist’s personal ideas through narration or exposition in the same way an essay does, but it does so through photographs.

Emotion in a photograph, or any work of art, is what helps a viewer connect with a piece if that emotion is prevalent in the viewer. Emotion, or a feeling, is what can bring a snapshot out of obscurity and make it shine.

Hope structures your life in anticipation of the future and influences how you feel in the present. Similar to optimism, hope creates a positive mood about an expectation, a goal, or a future situation. Such mental time travel influences your state of mind and alters your behavior in the present.

Such excessively aspirational hope isn’t only irrational, it’s also imprudent and can at times be dangerous. For it can increase the risk that you’ll get into more trouble than you might already be in.

Studies have found that hope is positively correlated with life satisfaction and serves as a buffer against the impact of negative and stressful life events [6]. Thus, individuals high in hope tend to show better athletic, academic, occupational, and health outcomes [5].

Hope (lat. spes) is one of the three theological virtues in Christian tradition. Hope being a combination of the desire for something and expectation of receiving it, the virtue is hoping for Divine union and so eternal happiness. While faith is a function of the intellect, hope is an act of the will.

One cannot have hope without faith. When people have hope they have faith, because they hold a belief that says “I believe that the future will be better.” And while they have no grounds to “prove” the hopeful assumption, they have faith in it. While faith without hope is possible, hope without faith is not.

An example of hope is when a person believes his life situation will approve and his run of back luck will end. To have confidence; trust. Hope is defined as the action of wishing or desiring that something will occur. An example of hope is when you wish for a victory by your team.

Courage, according to Aristotle, is the first virtue because it makes all the other virtues possible. If that’s true, then courage is also the first virtue in the workplace.

His list of 13: Temperance, Silence, Order, Resolution, Frugality, Industry, Sincerity, Justice, Moderation, Cleanliness, Tranquility, Chastity and Humility. Thirteen wasn’t a nod to the original colonies, nor was it random.

Humility is considered a state of being, highlighted by your behavior and approach to things. It’s also considered one of the virtues of the human condition, along with kindness, patience, diligence, charity, temperance and chastity. Humility is often thought to occur in the absence of pride.

A humble person is a growing person who is quick to read, invite feedback, and ask good questions. A humble person is at peace with themselves and others. Humility embraces contentment and simplicity. It doesn’t need to have the nicest or be the best.
