Under is a preposition. When we use under as a preposition, it is similar to below.

As detailed above, ‘top’ can be a noun, a verb, an adverb or an adjective. Noun usage: His kite got caught at the top of the tree. Noun usage: Headings appear at the tops of pages. Adverb usage: She came top in her French exam.

To find adjectives, go to the words they describe — nouns and pronouns. Start with the noun or pronoun and ask three questions. (Not “What’s the new hot app?” or “Did you see Will’s new profile photo?” This is grammar, not life.)

Run the macro

1. Open Word, and draft your document or paste in text from another application.
2. Open the Macros dialog (Tools > Macro > Macros).
3. Select CommentBeVerbs.
4. Select Run. Word instantly highlights every be-verb in the doc, adding the margin comment for each one.

To identify passive voice, look at what happened and look at who was responsible for doing it. If the person or thing responsible for doing the actions is either omitted or occurs in the sentence AFTER the thing that happened, AND if you see a past participle straight after the form of “to be,” it’s passive voice.

On the Word menu, click Preferences > Spelling & Grammar. In the Spelling & Grammar dialog box, under Spelling, check or clear the Check spelling as you type box. Under Grammar, check or clear the Check grammar as you type box. Close the dialog box to save your changes.
