Introduced in 1994, the Super Tool was an industry first: Full-size, all-locking tools in a 4.5” size. The 300 continues its legacy with the strongest, most comfortable set of tools in the line. Includes a leather sheath and back with our 25 year warranty.

There are a few differences between the MUT Utility and MUT EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) tools. Whereas the MUT Utility features regular needlenose combination pliers with hard-wire cutters, the MUT EOD instead features ‘Military Performance Spec Cap Crimpers’ and fuse-wire cutters.

The Leatherman MUT EOD is the top of the pile when it comes to multi tools. A Military Utility Tool designed for those working in Explosives Ordnance Disposal, the EOD is meant to withstand even the harshest conditions.

The Super Tool was the third tool produced in the Leatherman Lineup and the first 4 and a half inch tool. The Super Tool was produced from 1994 through 2001 where it was replaced by the Leatherman Super Tool 200.

So what did the first Leatherman tool look like? Well, the idea for the concept came to Leatherman after going on a driving tour of Europe in 1975, and having to use a pocket knife to repeatedly fix his failing car.

Today, Leatherman is bringing back the original, Limited Edition Pocket Survival Tool to celebrate its 35th Anniversary.
