Growing up to 2.75 metres long, the yellow sea snake (Hydrophis spiralis) is the longest species of sea snake.

They prey on eels, which they can find when they slide through a reef’s crevices. Female sea snakes tend to go for bigger eels in deeper waters, because female sea snakes are bigger than their male counterparts. Males are more likely to attack smaller prey in shallow waters.

The electric eel has a slender, snake-like body and flattened head. Its thick, scaleless skin is generally dark gray to brown, and its underside is a yellow-orange color.
