The literal meaning of the word jihad is “to struggle” or “to resist”. This kind of struggle should be, first and foremost, against the enemies of your nafs – lust, desire and the devil. Military jihad is a secondary type and relates to self-defense against non-Muslims.

The Qur’an on Jihad Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors. To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged;- and verily, Allah is most powerful for their aid.

Conflict resolution is a way for two or more parties to find a peaceful solution to a disagreement among them. The disagreement may be personal, financial, political, or emotional. When a dispute arises, often the best course of action is negotiation to resolve the disagreement.

During violent religious conflicts, many people have been killed, maimed and wounded. There have also been wide spread disruption of economic activities with negative effects on productivity. Hundreds of churches and mosques, hotels and other related business as well as vehicles, private homes etc, have been destroyed.
