The role. A fashion buyer is someone who plans and selects garments and clothing ranges to sell in clothing stores and online. Before making their decisions, a buyer must consider factors such as customer demand, price points and market trends.

To become a fashion editor, you need a bachelor’s degree in fashion, journalism, or a related field. The fashion editor position is not an entry-level role so you will also need relevant experience as a writer or photographer, or have hands-on experience in the fashion industry.

What does a fashion stylist do? In short, a stylist dresses people, using clothing to communicate. It could be to make somebody look and feel great, to sell a brand or a particular item, or to create an inspiring image. It is all about “telling stories with clothes,” John says.

The price you charge per session is up to you, and stylists can charge anywhere from $20 an hour to $2,000 based on their skill and demand. A strong stylist can make anywhere from $2,400 a year to $300,000 a year, so the sky’s the limit as far as salary goes.
