Edinburgh has topped the list of the UK’s happiest cities to work in based on hours, salary and life-satisfaction….Edinburgh bagged the top spot closely followed by Bournemouth and Brighton.

Aylesbury has been ranked the 18th worst place to live in England, in a new poll which was conducted by the satirical website ‘I Live Here,’ after a ‘record-breaking’ 125,681 people voted.

Part of the reason that Aylesbury has seen such a population growth in recent years is the affordability of its housing, which – comparatively speaking at least – is affordable for such as town in the commuter belt.

The people of Aylesbury have responded to the news that the town has been named as one of the worst places to live in England. Following a poll on the satirical website ‘I Live Here’, the town was ranked at 18 on a list of 50, with contributors on the website describing the area as an ‘eyesore, concrete jungle’.

What about renters? Average asking rents in Buckinghamshire currently stand at £1,323 per month. Renters will need to budget £1,054 for a two-bedroom flat and £1,866 for a four-bedroom house.

THE three richest towns in the UK are all in south Bucks, according to a survey by a national newspaper. Beaconsfield was named the richest town in the country by the Daily Telegraph – and it was closely followed by Gerrards Cross and Chalfont St Peter in second place and Amersham in third.

Buckingham itself is a very small market town so most people live in the surrounding villages. Alongside the local schools (including lovely village school and highly sought after state grammars) are some of the most elite (posh) private schools in the country.
