Differences from predecessor (Evolution engine) The 88 represents the displacement in cubic inches of the standard engine. The bore is 3.75 in (95 mm) and the stroke is 4.00 in (102 mm), meaning the displacement is 88 cu in (1,450 cc). The Twin Cam 96 displaces 96.7 cu in (1,584 cc).

The current 80 CID engine using stock Harley-Davidson cases, cylinders and heads is able to produce 95.3 Ft. Lbs. of torque at 4700 rpm’s and 95.3 Horsepower at 5700 rpm. The power comes on unbelievably strong between 4000 and 6000 RPM.

The twin cams are very reliable motors however, I think yours has the M&M efi on it. These have been known to be a bit hokey (so I hear) but most folks say if you leave them alone they are perfectly fine.

Harley reports that the Twin Cooled 103 has 10.7 percent more torque than the standard 103, although no horsepower figures are offered. The High Output Twin Cam 103 gets more cam lift and a better-flowing airbox for more torque compared to a standard Twin Cam 103.
