The deductive method includes the following steps:

The five steps involved are the Anticipatory Set, Introduction of New Material, Guided Practice, Independent Practice and Closure.

The 7 Es stand for the following. Elicit, Engage, Explore,Explain, Elaborate, Extend and Evaluate.

The 4-A Model Lesson plans are an important part of education. They’re a written plan of what a teacher will do in order to achieve the goals during the school day, week, and year. Typically, lesson plans follow a format that identifies goals and objectives, teaching methods, and assessment.

The most effective lesson plans have six key parts:

• Lesson Objectives.
• Related Requirements.
• Lesson Materials.
• Lesson Procedure.
• Assessment Method.
• Lesson Reflection.

One way to develop a lesson plan is observing the 4A’s strategy on teaching Mathematics: Activity, Analysis, Abstraction, and Application. Based on Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory, it aims to teach the child holistically. Learners have diverse ways of acquiring knowledge.

An effective lesson gets students thinking and allows them to interact and ask questions, tap into their background knowledge, and build new skills. Effective lesson planning requires the teacher to determine three essential components: the objective, the body, and a reflection.

The four key lesson components included in this reading are objectives, anticipatory sets, checking for understanding, and closure. Many educators indicate that these components play a valuable role in the design and delivery of an effective lesson.

Here is an example: Let’s say that you are writing a lesson plan on nutrition. For this unit plan, your objective for the lesson is for students to identify the food groups, learn about the food pyramid, and name a few examples of healthy and unhealthy foods.

The three components that you should include in a lesson plan to ensure that it’s solid and effective are:

• Tools to check for understanding.

Examples of learning outcomes might include:

• Knowledge/Remembering: define, list, recognize;
• Comprehension/Understanding: characterize, describe, explain, identify, locate, recognize, sort;
• Application/Applying: choose, demonstrate, implement, perform;
• Analysis/Analyzing: analyze, categorize, compare, differentiate;

• Education. Passing an exam is an objective that is necessary to achieve the goal of graduating from a university with a degree.
• Career. Gaining public speaking experience is an objective on the path to becoming a senior manager.
• Small Business.
• Sales.
• Customer Service.
• Banking.

Learning objectives should be brief, clear, specific statements of what learners will be able to do at the end of a lesson as a result of the activities, teaching and learning that has taken place. Learning objectives define learning outcomes and focus teaching. They help to clarify, organize and prioritize learning.

The ABCD model for writing objectives

1. Objectives will include 4 distinct components: Audience, Behavior, Condition and Degree.
2. Objectives must be both observable and measurable to be effective.
3. Use of words like understand and learn in writing objectives are generally not acceptable as they are difficult to measure.
