Applicants from accredited public or private high schools who meet one or more of the criteria listed below may be admitted to the University of Houston. 3.2 GPA or higher in the high school academic core requirements with competitive SAT or ACT scores.

UH clocked in at number 18 in the new most sober rankings, compiled by the Princeton Review, joining a band of small private, religious universities for the respected, if not slightly boring honor. No other Texas universities ranked on either Top 20 Party Schools or the Top 20 Most Sober Schools.
