Jasmine Martinez lost consciousness on the ride in summer 2015. The 10 year old was still breathing when the ride stopped, she and was airlifted to the hospital on a Friday. She died the next day.

Some parks already admit out-of-state visitors. SeaWorld in San Diego was the first, followed by Universal Studios Hollywood. Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia and Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park still admit only California residents.

Overall, I like Six Flags Magic Mountain better objectively speaking from this analysis. They have much more to do for the thrill seekers than Disneyland, and is priced less. Disneyland is for all ages, but they lack quality thrill rides.

California theme parks can now welcome out-of-state visitors, it seems. Roller coasters such as the Manta at SeaWorld San Diego reopened this month after being closed because of COVID-19 restrictions. Representatives for those parks said Wednesday that the policy is based on their reading of the guidelines.

In a break from other Southern California theme parks, SeaWorld decided this week to open its gates to out-of-state visitors who are vaccinated, saying that it’s now allowed under newly revised state COVID-19 guidelines. The department had not formally announced this week any change to its guidelines for theme parks.

The California economy will fully reopen on June 15 after more than a year of pandemic hibernation, but industry experts do not expect Disneyland, Universal Studios and other theme parks in the state to return to full capacity and operations right away.

From today (April 12) non-essential retail is allowed to reopen, along with the return of salons, hairdressers, gyms, pubs, restaurants, zoos and theme parks. With the lifting of the government’s ‘stay at home’ order at the end of March, we can once again venture out and enjoy more freedoms.

According to Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s lockdown roadmap, theme parks can start to reopen from April 12 in England.

In England, all zoos will be able to reopen from April 12. Strict social distancing is expected to be in place throughout the zoo with mask wearing made mandatory. In Wales, all hospitality venues have to remain closed for now and a roadmap out of lockdown is yet to be produced by the government.

Opening Times for Drayton Manor

• In 2021 the Drayton Manor theme park is open on most dates from 12th April until 31st October.
• It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in September and October.
• The gates open at 10am, rides start at 10.30am, and the closing time is usually 5pm.

Staffordshire-based family attraction Drayton Manor Park has confirmed it has been sold, as part of a pre-pack administration, to Looping Group – a European company operating 15 leisure parks across the UK, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and Portugal.
