To try to shrink, wash the garment at the hottest water setting of your washing machine (only this garment, nothing else). After washing, place the garment inside a garment laundry bag or tied pillowcase and tumble in the dryer at its hottest setting for 10 minutes. Remove and try the garment on; if it fits, great.

Rayon and polyester clothing are a confusing blend, in terms of care. Rayon is a more delicate fabric that is prone to shrinkage. Polyester is a tougher fabric, able to withstand hotter temperatures. So when it comes to washing a blended fabric, the confusion is over how to treat it so it looks clean and wrinkle-free.

The 50/50 cotton/polyester blend has been created with both types of fibers to take advantage of the best qualities of each. It is less expensive than 100% cotton and offers comparable comfort. The 50/50 blend prevents the fabric from shrinking, as cotton that has not been preshrunk is prone to doing

YES! Actually, it does most of the shrinking in the dryer. The higher percentage of the cotton in the blend, then the more likely that the garment will shrink in hot water. The higher percentage of the spandex in the garment, the more likely it will shrink from the heat of the dryer

Polyester, nylon, spandex, acrylic, and acetate won’t shrink and will resist water-based stains. Most produce static and may permanently wrinkle in a hot dryer, so dry on low. How to wash: Machine-wash in warm with all-purpose detergent
