C-MAP’s Wide and Local charts are the most complete mapping experience for avid salt water anglers. The best fish-finding features are packed into these charts, including: high resolution bathymetry, genesis layer, custom depth shading, 3D views and satellite imagery.

The basic IHMC CmapTools software is free for educational institutions and US Federal Government Agencies, and at this time the software is being offered free as a beta test version to other users, including commercial users. Consider donating to keep CmapTools free for schools and universities.

How to Download Cmap Tools

1. Go to cmap.ihmc.us.
2. Click on the link where it says, “Downloaded.” It will take you to a page asking for your information.
3. Fill out all the required fields.

Create a Cmap

1. From the “Views – CmapTools” window:

The Cmap Cloud provides a centralized sharing site for users to store and and share their Cmaps and access them from the three versions of CmapTools: CmapTools (for Desktop), CmapTools for iPad and CmapTools in the Cloud. The Cmap Cloud hosts CmapTools in the Cloud, the Web-based version of CmapTools.

Open a Cmap

1. From the “Views – CmapTools” window:
2. Highlight the Cmap that you wish to open. Select File, then Open to have the Cmap open in another window.
3. If a Cmap or folder is not highlighted, and either Open is selected from the File menu, or Enter is pressed, the current “View” will open in another window.
