Platinum Label refers to a collecting tier of Barbie dolls. These dolls are produced in editions of less than 1,000 worldwide, and the tier includes premium one-of-a-kind dolls available at select events, like a Bob Mackie OOAK (one-of-a-kind) Barbie® doll, created for Dream Halloween.

Gold Tier. Each doll in the Gold Label tier is limited to no more than 25,000 pieces created worldwide. Gold Label dolls include designer dolls such as the Badgley Mischka Bride doll, the first Barbie Collector doll.

Black Label® Black Label™ Collection includes some of Barbie® Signature’s most sensational dolls designed for the adult collector. Black Label™ dolls do not have a quota limit.

Barbie is used to comment on someone’s appearance while doll is more of a verb, describing the act of making oneself up (dolled up). A lot depends on the era you are talking about, 50 years ago both were seen as compliments but today both are see as insults, or rather demeaning more so than insulting.
