Classes at Northeastern are difficult. Most professors really do want you to LEARN in their class, instead of just pass the exams, so they’re very interactive.

It is a tier 3 university which has manipulated statistics to show itself as a tier 2 university.

Northwestern is more prestigious, but Northeastern is a good school, too.

Northeastern University is fairly large at 14,000 undergraduate students. If a student wants a smaller university or doesn’t want to live in a big city, Northeastern is probably not a good fit. Also, Northeastern puts a lot of emphasis on its 5 year, cooperative education program.

Typically this is because they chose to do co-op – practical experience at a work location – during one or more semesters. Northeastern offers a five year plan if you’re doing co-ops to accommodate that extra time spent. These students are not late or lazy; they’re not trying to spread four years of work into five.

Northeastern University will adapt its century-old co-op program to allow students to graduate in four years, instead of five, with less work experience under their belts.

It can be hard to make friends outside your class though. But there are always different clubs you can join and lots of parties you can go. I didn’t do much of these because study already kept me busy. However, if you are a undergrad, you can always make time.

The worst thing about Northeastern is the enormous cost. It’s a great school to attend, especially because of the cooperative education work program, and Boston is an awesome city to go to school in, but it is very expensive and the average student is bound to leave with large amounts of loans.

It’s a lot of fun! Northeastern is not the biggest party school, but you will always be able to find a party going on on the weekends or go to a local bar. Northeastern’s number one sport is definitely hockey.
